Gravatar This one is a little too close to reality.

Gravatar Well thank God she knew who Billy Graham was! I'm just thankful she didn't mention Joseph Smith.

Gravatar Jeff - Yeah, maybe so. Oh well, here's to tomorrow. *g*

Lucy - Yeah, I figured she was too young to remember Joseph Smith or Martin Luther.

Maureen

Gravatar That's an easy one. It was some guy in a sheet, Lawrence Olivier! Oh wait, he was Zeus in "Clash of the Titans".

Well, that's the same thing, isn't it?

Gravatar Der Tommissar - I am really surprised someone didn't give that as an answer.

Maureen

Gravatar Der Tommissar - Good call. I am really surprised someone didn't give that as a possible answer.

Maureen

Gravatar So Lucy, when are you going to get a blog?

God bless, Maureen

Gravatar It is disappointing Maureen. I was thinking of investing some of my retirement savings in the Catholic Church but the fact that most members don't know the founder suggests a certain lack of competent bookkeeping. I already had my doubts with the whole no contraception thing (everyone knows that people with kids don't have the big bucks to drop in the collection plate) and helping the poor and needy is not going to generate a lot of revenue.

The Joe Smith church may be a better investment, they bug people about tithing and have door to door marketing people.

Gravatar Maureen, I would get a blog, but alas, I'm not as clever or as smart as you :o)

I have 3 teenagers, a husband, and I work one on one with mentally and physically challenged adults. Today I spent the greater part of the day in a Bingo parlor with mentally challenged adults for 4+ hours. (but hey, that's what I get paid the big bucks for right?) My mind is numb at this point in the day. I force myself to go to bed after reading and blogging at night. I have four blogs I like to read and comment on. Your's I always check first. Plus I fear I would bore the world with a blog.

Gravatar That should have said LUCY and not Anonymous. I guess it's time to go finish off that bottle of Jack Daniels and go to bed. (jk)

Gravatar Cycles - Have you thought about checking out Joel Osteen? He's got a bestseller and a used to run a businesss. He could be a better investment.

Lucy - Wow, you seem to be doing way too much good in the world to start a blog. *g* That's great you spend a lot of time with your family and helping out other adults who need help. Good for you. Thanks for the nice things you said about this here blog. We like having you here.

God bless, Maureen Martin

Gravatar Maureen, how can Lucy be doing any good?

I mean, she didn't call her work "an apostolate". You can't do good unless you have an apostolate, right?

Gravatar Tom,

That's right. Lucy, unless you are doing your work under the auspices of an offical apostolate, you aren't really doing anything. In fact, it is even better if you are part of an apostolate that isn't doing anything, but talks a lot about doing various "things." I find that an apostolate that focuses a lot on growth is ideal. You need to get your priorities straight, Lucy. Clearly, you are in error.

God bless, Maureen

Gravatar Joel Osteen scares me. His mom is so proud of the fact that he never went to bible college.

I think it is the shiny happy God that he espouses that really scares me the most though. When I look at my life I don't think that kind of God would have done me much good.

Gravatar Oh well, I'm sure he means well. But the real question is...how does he get his hair so shiny, full of body and well-conditioned?

God bless, Maureen

Gravatar Oh man, I suck dirty canal water. Who knew? My life is a sham... :o)

Gravatar Maureen,

I'm sure he would say it is because of clean living. I would guess it is liberal applications of styling product. Only his hairdresser knows for sure.
