My response is actually for another article you wrote about the decline in Eucharistic Ministers. I'm sorry I couldn't find your email address so I just thought I'd respond here. I was actually quite glad to hear of the news. You see only priests whose hands have been consecrated can hold the sacred hosts. The greatest mystic of all time Ven. Anne Catherine Emmerich saw that Jesus actually place the bread Himself on the tongues of His apostles. Boy, I can really relate to Nagin's and Blanco's Lenten penances. I, myself, gave up lima beans and our girls gave up homework. It's gonna be the best Lent ever! :-D
