Oh dear Max,
If you fell empty then you are accomplished. As our knowledge accumulates and our experience and perceptions expand we become concious of how stiffled we are by the world.
Once I was shameless, arrogant, jealous. Now, I am ashamed almost eternally, suffocated, concious of my viciousness, modest in my opinion of myself.
Your writing reminds me of Andrei Makine's. Perhaps one day you'll find time to read Andrei Makine's "Once Upon the River Amur" (Sometimes Amur is translated as 'love'). Perhaps someone will make a gift of it to you. Your bull reminds me of his wolf.
I'm working up the courage to confess. I'm repentant. I suppose to use your manner of speach, I'm a poor man's Raskolnikov. I'll confess one day. Soon. In person. The stupid action in question has played a large role in shaping my present person. Soon, some relief, some sincerity.

This is really good stuff, Max. Hemingway would be proud. When do you return home? We can discuss our travels.

"Before you can have Freedom, you've got to be alive."
--I'd like to know what constitutes as being alive. I assume you mean alive on a level beyond the anatomical and would like your perspective.
