Gravatar You're absolutely right... I think students should spend more time to consider what they are actually protesting for and not do it out of some misguided belief that they are helping society by lobbying for these contract workers. During these hard economic times, dedicated leaders like President Faust have to make tough decisions in favor of financial responsibility even if that unfortunately means that some people may lose their jobs. Harvard isn't exploiting the working class, at least in this instance, and students must recognize that they are not advocating the Harvard community's interests, or their own interests for that matter, by protesting. I believe that many students want to fulfill a fantasy of protesting on behalf of the working class and want to portray their solidarity with the common man despite the fact that they, as Harvard students, come from privileged socioeconomic and/or academic background. They do not fully understand the actual issue at stake, at least in my opinion. But reasonable people (a.k.a. liberals) can disagree.
