I recently had a "discussion" via Email with Maryetta Ables, the president of the "US chapter" of FORCES.
I asked her the following question... "How many people will die from smoking this year?"
Her answer... "NONE". She then went on to call me "ignorant" because she believes that I do not not read the "studies" that are posted on their website that refutes the "junkscience" which claims that smoking is dangerous.
You, Michael Siegel, claim to be a physician. Do you also believe that smoking is safe? (I'm not talking about secondhand smoke, we're talking about primary smoke here)
To My friends that have been involved in the "smoking" effort that are dignified very honest and patriotic citizens. "In 20 years of knowing most of you I am honored and better off for knowing you in every good way I can think of". When I read a "cheap shot" sent, aimed at any of you It actually hurts me in the worst way because I know better. I only wish I could tell the person making the fallacious charges that each of you have more integrity than any high paid smoker hater I have ever heard utter a word, In the last decades some of you have passed away in this life but still live in my old mail. letters, and thermal faxes I refuse to throw out.
Martha Perske has a heart bigger than Connceticut, and talent to spare I have some of her illustrations that I cherish, I am over the hill now looking at 70 , my blood still runs red hot on this issue. To most of you that I know I can honestly say that you are close like a family that I love and live for. God bless all of you, you know who you are.
