Hi, if you take Zantac or Benadryl before you take your MTX, it will usually prevent or greatly minimize the nausea. Also, be sure you are taking folic acid - the rheumatologist should have prescribed a huge dose, in the range of 1-3 mg, which is way more the usual dose. The folic acid prevents oral ulcers when taking MTX. The fatigue subsides over time for most people. Finally, there is an online support group for people with PsA at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/g...iaticArthritis/
. Lots of good practical info there! Best regards, sherry z

I just received a prescription for methotrexate following a diagnosis of Psoriatic Arthritis.... Haven't started yet but will on Thursday. How is it going for you? I'm looking for real world experiences from which to learn. Thanks.

Hi, I have also been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis which have been active but undiagnosed for years resulting in surgery to a number of joints in my body.I am still recovering from surgery to both feet and there is confusion from two doctors that starting methotrexate will slow or stop the healing and bone fusion in the recent surgery, can anybody help with information that this is true, as the PsA is becoming very agressive throughout my body, Regards Graeme
