Gravatar Hey dude, like I always say... you need to focus, focus, focus on your goals and stick to them. Do a few things very well, never many things decently. In regards to the reading, I used to have the same problem. Many of us do. It's easy to want and try to do everything in the world that we learn from books, but it's not so easy to stay laser focused with our ambitions. It's cool to read a lot, but there should be more "doing" than "reading" ... always! Just keep on doing what you do best, and everything will fall into place.

Gravatar You have some good stuff here. Keep it up.

Gravatar Thanks for the comments guys. I agree completely David - there should certainly be more "doing" than "reading". That's the perfect way to sum up what I was trying to say.

Gravatar I used to have the same problem: as silly as it sounds, reading too much.

In fact, there should be A LOT more DOING than READING.

Gravatar Adam - At business school (disclosure, I'm a harvard mba from a few decades ago), we used to discuss whether we were learning to over-analyze business problems. After much debate, the rules that I learned (and can remember) were:
- action has impact, analysis does not.
- its easy to confuse activity and effort with progress. Working hard does not ensure progress. All the guys flipping burgers at McDonalds are hard-working
- Most business theory is rehashing or restating the obvious
- Understanding your own business means getting meaningful current accurate metrics, often not the ones that are readily available...
