Gravatar I've never had to opportunity to have an office relationship being that I don't work in an office, but I agree that it would be something you would want to venture away from. However, I could potentially see myself going out with my co-workers and falling for someone over the course of time. Love happens. It's just one of those things that you don't have control over. Anyone who has really been in love knows that.

Gravatar Really depends on the nature of the place you're working. I never had an office romance, but I did work for the same employer as my wife for a few years. It was a large university, and we occasionally saw each other for lunch. We even helped my brother get a job there, and he's worked his way up to a management position too. It's entirely possible for family members to work very successfully for the same employer. Of course, I wouldn't want to be in the next cubicle over from the girl who just dumped me last week, on the other hand.

Gravatar Great comments guys - I agree that love happens and in that case the best you can hope for is a marriage.

And yes, it definitely depends on where you are working (I should have mentioned that). Obviously if you both work at a college and don't interact it probably won't have much effect - I was more referring to that "next cubicle over" girl that Peter mentioned.
