SportsLizard Entrepreneur Blog - Comments

Gravatar I wish I didn't work for myself! I love the sound of pleasefireme.com and I, like yourself, feel I would be drawn to reading it. Actually in my last contract I reckon it would have taken two-three years to fire anyone in that building. In fact, it's almost impossible. Mediocrity is actually encouraged, rewarded with promotion. One girl that was so utterly incompetent, had to be moved to another area because they couldn't fire her!!! And that's in Australia so it happens everywhere.

Gravatar This is too real and actually sorta true right now. I talked to you about my entrepreneurial ventures that I am starting up now while in corporate america and I can pretty much get away with whatever I want. Read ebooks at work, text message at least 10 times per day, will at times work on my business plan, and will do the work quick enough to where I will have time to do whatever else. It is bad, but I am pretty sure tons of people do it.

Gravatar I have been keeping up with your blog from time to time and actually my friend Oaks there is in the same boat that you were before. He is an engineer by profession but it's not his passion in the least anymore so he just BS's through the day. More importantly I am his business partner and I actually just got fired yesterday. I routinely took 2 hour lunches, I came in late, I sat and zoned out for hours on end, used 3 weeks of vacation in 3 months. Hell I even went to sleep at my desk sometimes and nothing but one write up for 8 months of continuous tardiness, now granted I got my work done. I was actaully pretty good at the mindless zombie work. But for the last 2 months I was actually trying my best to get fired. I think me walking out mid-day and not coming back was the only way I could've gotten fired. Ironically the sentiment of the idea of pleasefireme is the business venture Oaks and and I have been working on for a minute so please stay tuned as we are about to launch within a month. It's all about the Cubes baby...by the way even more ironically is that me purposefully getting fired is going to finance my first business lol (Think about it). It feels great to wake up and watch G.I. Joe with a big bowl of Capatin Crunch next to the computer and work on my job not someone else's knowing it's going to be allright. Maybe pleaefireme.com could work in conjunction with what we're doing let me know.

Gravatar "...desire to prove how inefficient and hypocritical corporate America is." You have no idea how real that statement is and how many people feel that way. It actually encompasses a lot of what we're working on. Please watch out for the cubes we're coming very soon.

Gravatar You should use that domain to develop a community based site. You know, like the ones where people come and rant about being dumped or rant about this or that. It could be something big.

Gravatar Wow, glad to see I'm not alone. Oaks - I'm definitely going to be reading your blog more closely lol.

Gravatar All said is true, very true, ESPECIALLY at a larger company. I don't think a smaller company you could get away with as much, as people and management has more time to monitor you.
Please create pleasefireme.com - that would be great
