Adam,
This is a lesson I learned while I was very young and think that it is a rather prevelant attitude among entreprenuers.
I think that this is the best way to get anything worthwile done.
In fact I think that there are way too many people who are scared and or obsessed with following the rules. I personally struggle with how to create a culture of openess, without barriers , red tape, and rules that restrict our progress and inventiveness.
Would we have the light bulb or telephone if Thomas Edison had asked permission?

I'm glad you guys agree. Great point Aaron - I know that for me personally I was taught to "obey the rules" when I was younger so it was tough for me to flip and start doing things a bit differently.

If you need to ask permission for every little thing, you'd have a bureaucracy, which is a 4 letter word to an entrepreneur. Do what you think is right and well intentioned and you can always defend your actions afterward.
Good luck.
