I think another reason for teams being the better route is the simple fact that there are only so many hours in the day. And only one person can do so much in a day. If you have multiple people then your team as a whole is going to be able to get more done in a day.

Thanks for the great comments guys. I completely agree with your pt Chris. That's kind of what I was getting at - one man can only do so much in a day, but a team can collectively accomplish so much more.
