Gravatar I wouldn't recommend putting anything that would traditionally go in a personell file on the web. At all. Huge liability issues there.

Client info is a bit tricky too. If you need something that you can use layers of permissions, you might consider vBulletin. You can very nicely use vBulletin in conjunction with MediaWiki, using vbWiki. Use the wiki for documentation, as you plan, and use the forum for discussions and stuff you don't need lower level employees seeing.


Gravatar Thanks for the input Peter - I wasn't really talking about personel files per se...more things like our quoting process, accouting process, etc. Things you'd want documented and would want some employees to see eventually, but could come back to haunt you if they used the information in the wrong manner. I'll probably just password protect very important pages of the wiki and keep everything else open to editing. We're using it solely for documentation and not to store employee records or payroll information or anything like that.
