Check out the MIT Science magazine from a few weeks ago. There is an article on Hydrogen and Oxygen production from water and Solar electricity with now effective catalysts. The O2 and H can laterr be recombined in a Hydrogen fule cell to produce electricity. This is still a laboratory situation, but thee is a prediction on commercial application within 10 years. Now this is something we should be funding with signifcant research $$.

TJ, let's hope it can work practically (that is, cost-effectively to provide electricity to a large population) and it doesn't turn out to be just a pipe dream.
In any event, if no one starts funding it, then it will never happen, and our leaders don't seem to be lifting a finger to get us away from oil. We should all be worried and very active over this.
