Very nice post, and I completely understand how you feel a need to shut things out often in order to work as an artist. I do the same, I rarely watch the news or read the paper. Just the idea that we are "at war" seems affecting enough for me right now.

It's horrible to think of all the deaths of this war when, in my mind, we had no reason to be there in the first place. I don't understand this war at all.
