White Lightning Axiom: Redux Vitrol Roll Call

OLGC or St. Davids are great schools, and Archbisop Wood Rules

Gravatar Hi Mdm, I'm one of those drop outs. I graduated HS in 1968 (oops!) and went to University for one year. Decided to take a year off and decided that making money was so much fun, well especially the spending it part. But I'm now back in college trying to get an Associates in Acct'g. I was one semester away from the major needing "elementary statistics". Have to do all the college algebra b4 I get to take that class, but I'm so looking forward to it. Maybe I'll be able to understand how they come up with all this stuff, eh?
Sorry to take up so much space, is there a limit?

Gravatar Schools today are targeting all the wrong points when it comes to educational requirements. Can anyone spell any longer? I'm not talking about minor mistakes or even grammar, I'm talking in general about spelling. You wouldn't know by the majority of postings one reads around the blogs. The other issue I have with schools is the notion that everyone should go to college. No everyone shouldn't, there are those whose aptitude leans to the trades. And gawd knows we need people for that. Wish I could've been an electrician, I might be rich today.

Gravatar Virtual Charter Schools have my endorsement (provided you and spouse can make it work).

Added benefit: the ones that are recovnised by the state get YOUR tax dollars... worth looking into.

Gravatar Bill: Yeah, the Mrs and I are looking into OLGC, but the Lower Moreland HS is top notch in the nation. Must be the wads of cash they get from all the older folks who's children have grown up and moved away.

Gravatar Mouse: Keep up with that degree, it's so very important. You know? Oh, and no particular limit ... just keep on typing!

Gravatar Toni: Yeah, there is some awful examples out there. I'm not pretending to be a formal writer with the blog here, but I know how to tie in an opening paragraph and how to sum up an article! Even newspapers are getting worse. As for the college thing, you are correct. I don't see a problem with a 2 year degree for some of the fundamental things that are missed in the previous 12 years though. You know, home finance, and other little tid-bits. Oh and let me tell you, I learned just as much in my summers during college as I did in the actual classes. Plumbing, electric, construction ... etc. It helps to be handy at home as well as at the job.

Gravatar Charlie: Yeah, I've been taking a peek here: PAVCS and if we have 1 more kid, I'll probably give up on the job and work on more important things ... like raising children.
