White Lightning Axiom: Redux Vitrol Roll Call

People who drive while on a another planet drive me crazy. They don't hear sirens or notice flashing emergency lights or the big object in the middle of the road that shouldn't be there ---- all because they are totally inattentive while driving. They may not be in the 'accident' they caused!

Rubberneckers can be just as dangerous. I think people are just too cavalier about driving these days ... .like it's a right and not a privilege.
Of course I consider it a privilege because I can't always. I probably took it for granted when I was driving. *smirk*

Toni: I call them the 'Oblivious Nation'. Same people who leave their shopping carts in the middle of the asile, pay with checks and wait till it everything is all packed up, leave their car in front of the pump while the go shopping in the mini-store ... they are all over.

Friday:Yeah, it scares the daylights out of me sometimes when I see someone lighting a cigarette and talking on the cell phone at the same time. Some day, I'll be a hazard to Farmers Markets and I'll have to get the kids to chauffer me about.

Whiel we can all agree that inattentive drivers are a hazard, what is the purpose of even MORE legislation?
In recent years, first there's a ban on cell phones, now there's a ban on not moving your car after an accident. Wait! Why not band driving and be done with it all?
If people are inattentive, then write them up for unsafe driving and be done with it.
No more of these 'if it sounds good, people will vote for me' laws. Enough already.

Charlie: I understand your angst. And yes, the whole thing is pretty much symbolic since you KNOW that there will never be a ticket written for this. If only the people guilty of these acrimonious behaviors could have their feet held to the fire. But alas, all we have left is gnawing on the steering wheel and shouting at the windshield.
