White Lightning Axiom: Redux Vitrol Roll Call

Gravatar Hi!
There isn't a food shortage The problem is speculation has driven the prices up so people can't afford to buy food. I saw a news report from a market place in Haiti. There was plenty of flour yet a small cup of it costs more than what most people make in a day. In Egypt the bread is so expensive, the government is subsidizing the cost to prevent riots.
Same thing going on in many other countries.
I still find food is cheap here.
We could eliminate half the stuff in the grocery store and still be well fed

Gravatar carole: Yep ... speculators and lawyers are just another under-species of politician. Heck, I have a monster garden in the back yard so all I need is a protein source ... Hello CHICKENS!

Gravatar That's better. Our grumpy old man is back.

Gravatar Exxon-Mobil announced a record profit for their first quarter this year. Go figure! Hopefully it will be a bubble too.

Those kids look so cute on that train!

Gravatar It is evil.

Gravatar yeah i'd always heard about huge silos of grain rotting out there. i do not beleive there is any shortage of food, just a shortage of actual humans in charge of who gets it. arglebargle.

Gravatar Sometimes, your writing is so "poetic" I briefly forget you are addressing things like...SWEAT! But my goodness, man. You can even make THAT seem bigger than life. LMAO

Gravatar Liz :YOU KIDS! GET OFF MY LAWN!

Gravatar Mouse: Not this year ... gasoline sales are DOWN! People got a clue and started buying smaller cars.

Gravatar Diane : Problem is though ... the government ALWAYS makes it worse!

Gravatar stephen : I blame affluence and our penchant towards the sweets that abundance allows for.

Gravatar Linda : I'll see what I can do with ear-wax and hemorrhoids next!
