White Lightning Axiom: Redux Vitrol Roll Call

What you can see on Google Earth is rather old captures of most places...3-4 years old...but when you consider how detailed some of the areas are, just imagine what kind of details the governments all over the planet have access too.
And I believe that if you *really* want to get your hands on information for the sake of doing something illegal, you will know where to get it and how.
Google Earth is neat though :D

I've only used Google Earth for checking out my hometown and the moon, and would never have thought to go check out things like government buildings, or something in North Korea. However, since you brought it up, I think I'll go exploring!! People make such a fuss over anything.

Hey I'm interested in this article for work. (We are currently contracting to another company to fly Europe.) Can you tell me where you found this article?
I'm so torn on the 'who should control the internet'-thing. On paper it sounds right that the whole world should have a stake in it, but the UN has f'ed up so much stuff, I' don't think I want them in charge. Even though it does seem pretty elitist, I want us in charge for now.

Christa: I took a peek at my place and all the trees that my neighbor and I had removed are still there. So yeah, rather old. And not even remotely useful when it comes to the finer details.

Crystal: Not much to look at in NK. Iran and other nuclear hopefuls typicaly do their work underground. Until we get earth-penetrating sonar, (shhhh! I know.) we won't be able to see them.

As for control, I think the 'Hands off' nature of the US is perfect. Can you imagine if NK,China,Russia,Iran and such got on a commission that regulated it!? Wrecked indeed.

I went exploring, and came back here to comment, but Haloscan ate my homework. Anyway, I got to see my family's properties in NJ, and the farms around it. That was pretty cool. Not so cool is the amount of detail provided for the military bases I looked up. I found my house, as well as my husband's motorpool, and the other motorpools. Pretty unsettling, but honestly, you could figure that out by getting a visitors map of post.

Crystal: CURSES! I hate it when that happens. Oh, and the maps ... yeah. In fact, all this information can be obtained via Freedom of Information ... that and the friggen Chinese would sell it to you if you had the coin anyways.

Debbie,
I say if the world wants the internet under UN control, let them create their own "infastructure" together. They could do it. I don't want the countries that are over the UN over the information on the net. Like you said, it would be FUBAR'd!
