White Lightning Axiom: Redux Vitrol Roll Call

Gravatar Here's your tip of the day: Use moistened toilet paper.

Gravatar Deb : Oddly enough, it's been stated that such devices cause more problems! I was stunned. Not entirely pleased by the 2 week healing period either.

Gravatar CottonTimer: Yeah, I have the medicated wipes and have been bringing a moisture source (other than the toilet ... YETCH) with me to the rest room. Still, it's difficult to refine sand-paper.

Gravatar Well, this news is certainly a pain in the a$$! Nursing tip for roids and post partum women (which the latter I assume you are not!): Sitz baths. That's right, soak your hiny, preferrably while sitting on a semi-large life ring (donut) to ah, well...spread the cheekage a bit. It's worked for a hundred years of childbirth and will most likely work for you! You can add a bit of soothing oils/salts too.

Just a thought...the only other remedy is to stop eating...forever.

Linda D. in Seattle

Gravatar Linda: Indeed ... indeed. The 'cease consumption' tact worked for about 15 minutes.

Gravatar Younger Son was given this advice by the consultant: don't read on the toilet.

Gravatar Ouch, I have not had hemorrhoids since I was pregnant that was many moons ago. When I did have a case of rhoids Preparation H, Tucks, and a blow up doughnut pillow worked wonders.

I hope your bottom feel better soon

BTW:

Not making light of your situation, but I am glad I left my blog house today. Visiting you all has helped more than you can know.

Gravatar Your employer must buy their bathroom supplies from the same place mine does. I guess you have the skin stripping hand soap and cardboard paper towels too.

Oh and coffee does count. It doesn't have to be only water.
Sorry,I don't have any other advice.

Gravatar Hullo 'Roid,

Try tucking some grated potatoes into the area of affliction. Remember to line the back of your undywares to prevent, ummm, leakage.

Potatoes reduce inflammation and are nice and KEWL, which I'm sure you will appreciate about now!

Really! It works! Tried and true.
You'll have some explaining to do at work, though. Potato salad in the bathroom??

Best of luck -- roids aint' no walk in the park!

Shawna

Gravatar Karma? hahahahha, I am soooo sorry. (rejoice in that now I too shall be the butt of a joke. DARN! I always forget that part.) There is a remedy...my 101yr old aunt used it...a simple...takes down swelling...SHOOT! I know you have it at your home. Dagnabit!

Gravatar Lay off the coffee/caffeine sodas for a while since it stimulates the colon and thus aggravates the 'roids.

Water - 3 or 4 glasses a day - try the flavored water if you can't stand regular or bottled water.

Lay off the coffee/caffeine products

Use Prep H (with the inserter!!)twice a day and use the Prep H wipes after each ....'um....visit.

Lay off the coffee/caffeine products

Like Linda D said - Sitz baths - they feel absolutely wonderful. You can improvise and use a bedpan (known as a fracture pan in the biz) or use a basin to soak... 'em.

Lay off the coffee/caffeine products

Try not to sit for long periods - it adds pressure to the area.

Sometimes 'roids will worsen with "added" fiber to your diet - so go soft diet for a few (2 or 3) days.

Lay off the coffee/caffeine products

Hope ya feel better soon.

Gravatar Anne: I'm not much of a soda guy ... but my COFFEE!? ARGH! I did make note of that in the research and have cut back to only 2 cups. The rest is tea.

It's the sitting/standing thing that give me grief. Job + Kids ... I'll need to find some way to squeeze 'lay down' in there.

Gravatar Liz: Yeah, I'm not a big reader in the 'head'. I tend to think I'm rotting from the inside out so the less time I spend in there the better.

Gravatar blindersoff : Yeah, I'm going to talk to the Dr tonight ... hopefully I'll get a 'work from home' permit. Ow-ow-owwww...

Good to see that I can still touch others ... IN A GOOD WAY! Sheesh linda!

Gravatar Carole : Yeah, I suppose the coarseness of the product keeps the usage down to a minimum.

Gravatar Shawna: Taters!? Jeepers, I would have never considered that. I'm thinking that the are not supposed to be cooked and the 'flaked' product would not be of use here.

Gravatar Diane : The worm turns ... better stock up!

Gravatar Ouch! I don't have any ideas that others haven't written about but I hope you get some soothing relief in your heiny area real soon! I especially like Linda D.'s advice.

Gravatar Miss Chris: Yeah ... jokingly, i noted someone that perhaps a tourniquet would do ... but apparently that IS one sort of treatment!!! Oh, the horror, the horror.

Gravatar TEA BAGS! That can't be right...I'm still thinking about your, er, problem.

Gravatar Witch Hazel, straight...it will burn like the dickens at first, but you will feel relief. It's more powerful than Tucks, and cheaper.

Gravatar "Pile-o-Pain"....lol, sorry for chuckling. Never heard of the tater cure or the tea bags (again chuckling).
Witch Hazel has always been our roid fix...burns like hell but works pretty quickly.

Gravatar Diane: I've not had the opportunity to 'Tea Bag' anyone!

Gravatar Lisa : Yeah ... I have that with the wipes and yes, it does sting! Iodine comes to mind ... ow.

Gravatar Bubbie : You caught that 'pile' pun ... AWSOME!
