Passion is key for me too (no foolin, eh?)
My first boss in advertising told me to loosen up, stop trying to "write ads" and let your mind run.
His advice: "Stop self-censoring. It's MY job to reel you back in, yours is to try and escape."
The takeaway for me: You can pull talented, passionate people back from the outer edges and sort through what they've found, but you can't MAKE talented and passionate people.
