The missing phone number is one of my pet peeves, as well. Regardng your last post, I know a few other people who will phone persistently - I see their caller IDs - but not leave v-mails. Generally, if I don't answer when I'm at my desk it is because I am in the middle of something & I don;t wish to be distracted. I always return calls so actually quite appreciate (brief) v-mails.
Good tips on voice messages, especially the phone number. I usually make a point of repeating my full name, company and number again at the end of the message because I know from personal experience that pens are not usually at hand during the first half of messages.
