I have a couple of acquaintances like that. They seem to enjoy "sucking the life out of you". Drama queens that are constantly seeking advice about how to fix their problems but they never follow through. Personally, I think they enjoy being in distress in an attempt to garner sympathy and attention.

I have a coworker like this. She is really beautiful but has zero self-esteem. It gets old.
