MISSED!
- Hari entirely avoided the issue of him having used a partially-fictitious quote in his original story. Instead, he has deflected from this crucial point by trying to distract readers onto his accusers.
Johann, a falsehood is a falsehood is a faleshood.
No matter who points it out to you.
- And, less importanty, his follow-up piece displays basic errors of fact re his knowledge of Mid-East affairs:
"Jimmy Carter showed his commitment to Israel by giving it more aid than anywhere else and brokering the only peace deal with an Arab regime (Egypt) the country has ever enjoyed."

NOG,
HR allege it's a fabrication.
Interesting that you completely ignore HRs blatantly dishonest manipulation of Hari's words. Not that I'm surprised.

Michael,
Benny Morris debunks the full quote used by Hari.
Simple as that.
They were not said by Ben Gurion.
Tellingly, Hari left this out of his reply.
Why do you thnk that is?

Moreover, Hari, who cannot even name that Israel has TWO peace treaties with Arab countries, states that:
"How would we react if the 30m stateless, persecuted Kurds in the world sent armies and settlers into this country to seize everything in England below Leeds, and swiftly established a free Kurdistan from which we were expelled?"
1.) Sure, Kurds have no connection to British land.
Yet Hari applies this to Jews in their traditional land. A place where they've been living continuously since the formation of their religion, without interruption.
(Once more, Hari didn't address this criticism in his reply to HR.)
2.) Hari's quote would better suit the hypocrisy (again) of the flag that he, and you Michael, live under. Having no connection to this land, Australia, and half of Africa, where "Australians" and the British, respectively, pillaged, raped & colonised.

Morris, in a letter, said it didn't exist - that's the debunking.
Pretty weak.
Especially since, in his letter, Morris showed that he wasn't quite sure of the source.
It may not be true, and in the interests of factual accuracy I'd be happy to acknowledge that if someone showed, rather than claimed, that it wasn't true.
