Wow...I love that sweater. It turned out fabulous! Oh, and I plan on making the garter yoke cardigan soon too!
BTW, you blog name made me think of this, have you seen the Give A Hoot mittens? I just made a pair and they are super cute.

Lovely! I the color and ribbed yoke are so great! If I had any appropriate yarn, I might just start one myself.

What a beautiful sweater! I love the yoke pattern.
I agree that it's hard to rip back, but sometimes it's so worth it.

It's beautiful, Melissa! Most of my favorite knits involved a good rip. It's so worth it in the end, isn't it?

That sweater looks great on you.
I think you're right that the bigger rounds of stockinette lead to more relaxed gauge. I have an EPS center-front-and-sleeves-cabled sweater waiting to be ripped. I did both a swatch in the round and sleeves at the same gauge but the body was four inches too wide by the waist shaping. Now I think the sleeves are actually too tight a gauge and the baody gauge is correct just on too many stitches. I need to rip the whole thing and figure out how to get the gauge I want on the sleeves.

Could I love this sweater any more? No, I don't think I could. Somehow, you managed to knit a garment that is both traditional and a little sexy. The yoke is an interesting, flattering touch. It's a total win!

Really a lovely sweater and so flattering! Well done! And sometimes it's just better to rip and start new instead of trying to live with something that you don't really like!
