I hope Monty doesn't develop a taste for pistachio nuts, since I think they're poisonous for dogs -- and I wouldn't want him to use his treat-opening skills when you have real pistachios around and aren't there to supervise his efforts.

try as i might, i don't speak french -- so i use the american-ized spelling of 'macaron' (and so does laduree).

Laduree is AMAZING! Their teas and macaroons are just delicious! I'm sure your husband loved it.
Oh that little picture by picture "story" of Monty is hilarious. So he gets "naughty" with you right there watching? My dogs usually go hide while they're being bad. Except for when I come in and find LuLu just sitting there on our kitchen (eating) table. And that's just because she can get up there, but can't get back down.
