Great list! (And great meme.)
I just placed three of those on hold at my local library thanks to your list. Of the rest, three I already own (Interman, Age of Bronze, Clan Apis) and two more I already checked out from the library (Persepolis, Blankets). The library doesn't have Suspended in Language (curse my luck!). I decided to hold off on Dumped and The Tale of One Bad Rat, as I've got a lot of books on hold and can only read so much at a time.

I put mine up a few hours ago, but I'm starting to wonder if it's supposed to be 11 books that are all in-print and easily available. Aw, what the hell.

"In print" is nice, but I don't expect people to go out of their way to look things up. I just want to see some interesting, diverse lists.

Don't sweat the missing Maus. It's doesn't have to be a best-of list, just a list of good choices that, as Nigel Tufnel would say, goes to eleven.
That's a strong list, Steve. I'd probably put half of them on my own list.
Lieber: I don't see what's so sad about that guy's library list. I mean, he's got X-Men, Batman, Star Wars, Star Wars Manga and Thieves & Kings! It's the entire comics-medium galaxy, and you can fit it all into a bookbag.
I'm surprised the Smithsonian books haven't popped up on any of the lists I've seen, though. Where's the love?
