I felt the same way.
I also am a 12/14 and it's a hard size to be because as you know, being a 14 means you can't shop in some of the "regular" stores and being a 12 means you are normal - but the fattest normal.
Sigh.
That website made me feel so much better. I don't feel nearly as deformed as I did before I saw it. Yes, I have stretchmarks too. Yes, I have a scar from my c-section too. And thank you to all of the women who shared their pictures.
Those Dove girls weren't "real" women, but these ladies are.

Being pregnant, I'm actually looking at those pictures and going, 'oh, God, I'm going to have to go through all that getting bigger/recovering afterward crap, and it sort of fills me with dread. I hadn't fallen in love with my body again post baby one, but we'd reached a bit of a detente. Now to see it changing so much (and Jesus, I am perpetually hungry) makes me go, aw, man, how much worse is it going to get this time around? You sort of forget what a shock it is to see your body change so dramatically...

Hi,
Congratulations on your pregnancy.
There are many other pregnant moms who experience heartburn. It doesn't feel good, I know. It has something to do with your hormone levels.
I've just written about it in my blog. Hope that can help.
BTW, I also linked you up there. Hope you like it.
Cheers!

Ask Basil if you are beautiful. I'll bet he says yes. Ask him what he thinks about each facet of your apearance that bothers you. I bet for each of them he either could care less about it or actively finds it attractive.
I am judging by what you have revealed of Basil that he will be telling the truth. And, honestly, who's opinion matters more than his? See yourself through the standard of his eyes.
I flat love my wife's stretch marks! Her body, while not significantly bigger, is very different than it was before she gave me four kids in six years. And I think she is far more lovely now than ever!

I had a mother that only gained about 15 pounds while pregnant with her kids. We were all smallish babies ('69, '71 it was the times.) She harped on me and my sister, both slight women genetically, that we were getting "too big" when we were pregnant. She actually felt for my ribs like the vet does a golden retriever. I gained almost 60 lbs. I lost it by basically cutting out things like food. It's amazing a mother's power to screw up her daughters. I told her that with the next baby I'll keep my weight down by drinking and smoking like she did. (I laughed. She didn't.

I haven't checked out the site yet, but have heard about it all over. I will go over when I am done. I guess I haven't gone yet because I know all my friends, and what they look like in their swim suits and that no one looks like Heidi after giving birth. No where near so.
My gf's and I sit around and have this discussion and have come to the conclusion that the majority of women after giving birth look very very different. And unless you are willing to devote a whole lotta time, effort and/or money to getting back into "shape" ( which is totally different for each person) we need to come to grips and embrace our figures.
Now I am off to explore the website....
XOXO,
Silly
PS And dont you think it's weird that when you go to say Old Navy and try to find some cute pair of capris in a size 12 or 14, how there aren't ANY?? There are 400 pairs of size 2 or 4 but none in normal people size? When are the manufacturers gonna catch on?
