I'm a food Philistine, but the Brooklyn Brewery has some excellent beers.

Just reading about the cheese course alone made me weak in the knees. First course also sounds interesting -- I've heard some scuttle on the return of aspic, but hadn't personally heard of it on any menus yet. Although, after reading Julie/Julia it kinda freaks me out!

I heard CityZen was awesome, but frankly we haven't coughed up the dough yet to enjoy it. It's our nne year anniversary today so we're doing dinner at Willow (By Ballston.) HAve you been? Food was really very good and not a budget breaking "super special occasion" kind of place.

Isn't the Tabard lovely? I got married there, in one of the upstairs rooms.
I am thinking of taking my husband to CityZen for his birthday in February. Good to read a positive review.

We went to Restaurant Eve recently and had similarly amazing experience (and comparable price).

I agree with FS, Brooklyn Lager is in my top five beers of all time.

Congratulations on getting through the election time, it sounds kind of hairy!
The dinner made me want to get through an election year just so I could eat there. I don't know what Vermouth is, and have never tried a Manhattan, but I want one those, too.
