ja, and el blogspherio is right when complaining that 'imagine' isn't even a rock song, it's a lullaby... not even an electric piano. give me 'maggie may' any day. plus, there are like 5 songs in the first 100 dating after 1979 which just confirms this list as more baby boomer onanist nostalgia.

I would feel ashamed if I trashed John Lennon, The Doors, U2, and Bob Dylan in the same breath. No, I don't consider "Imagine" a rock and roll song by any means, and I would not put it in the top three songs by any means, however, I don't think any hip new squawk-squawk music will come nearly as close to inspiring me or provoking some sort of emotional response as anything that Lennon or Dylan has written. Have fun rocking out to The Unicorns.

I didn't trash Dylan. Just that song, cos it's weak, and it's all stupid hippie lyrics. Same thing with Lennon. I have enormous respect for him (and Dylan); it's just that lyrics for Imagine are crap, and painfully naïve. I trash the Doors because they honestly suck. And U2 is the most overrated band in the history of rock music, except for maybe Pink Floyd.

Yeah...well...you have to look at the lyrics using context clues. What's wrong with hippie lyrics anyway?...We do more drugs than any other genre so STEP!! BIOTCH!!

...and how could U2 not be overrated?...it's the media hyping them, they're just making the music. The Doors were, are, and will be a great band regardless of Wisconsin logic.

Yeah I would have to disagree with the Doors comment. PEACE FROG FOOL! BACKDOOR MAN! Come on buddy...come on.

The name of the song is "Imagine." Do Republicans not have an imagination? I don't think it's naive. It's more like a "wouldn't it be nice..." song, not a freakin' proposal.

And I'll still stand solid that "Woke up this morning, got myself a beer," is one of my favorite lyrics of all time. Rock on, Jim.
