I think the fact that SAP, MSFT and other big vendors "get it" is lost by a lot of the entrepreneurs and evangelists right now, which is a shame because the path to massive acceptance and adoption of emergent software (or social software, take your pick) has much less friction if the big vendors can bring some of those ideas, processes and technologies into their customer base quickly.


Gravatar Nice post Mark. I'm still groping my way towards my own conclusions. (Despite that I've stuck four posts from the conference over at Information World Review.)

It seems to me that, at the moment, there's a lot of idealism, a little pragmatism and a ton of protectionism.

In the enterprise, I'm guessing that the third will eventually be demolished by the second.
