They charged the husband with second degree murder? Must be in deference to the multicultural or diversity aspect of the crime. Why else wouldn't this be first degree murder? I have heard of people who really accidentally pulled a trigger. But how do you accidentally swing a sword or ax or whatever he used?
This is another reason to take a look at America's stupid infatuation with tolerance and diversity.
