Hang in there, Michelle. This is a hard time for you and A -- hopefully all tidal surges will be minimal.
I'm so glad no lives were lost, though. That is fantastic news!

I've managed to get through a few tornados and a bunch of hurricanes, Michelle, but nothing has affected me as badly as that cyclone did you. I'm glad you and your family weathered the storm well.

I really can't imagine just how bloody petrifying that was for you and A, and everyone there affected by it or having family/friends etc. affected by it. I'm so very glad you and A are okay.

Michelle,
So glad to know you are ok , was worried there , thank God you and yours and all are alright ,wish there was something I could do to help clean up this mess for you ,and as for anyone giving grief to anyone else on this situation , to police or otherwise , should keep it to themselves , you never know who is listening and when it will be their turn /shame on them . Rather safe than sorry.unless they endure it ,shut it ! my heart goes out to you .
Susan
ps. may your work be lightened by the knowledge of how much you are loved , and how much you were spared .

Your emotions mirror my own when Hurricane Juan struck Halifax. My in-laws roof was lifted off their house! Everyone was shell shocked for a good week. I felt betrayed by the media as the attention waned but the clean-up was still very much a part of our lives. It will take time and lots of it. I only pray that you do not get another and that we do not get one here this coming season.
I will certainly not forget what you are going through and continue to watch and pray. Even though lives are not lost, there is a huge disruption to property and community, and the realization of what could have been and what might again.
I hope the International Red Cross puts out a call for support.

We're glad you're all safe.
Your pictures and account is a valuable historical record of what it's like for an individual in a natural disaster. I cried when I read your last three blogs. It was so emotional. You're a great mother and a courageous person. You and your family will be blessed with good things from the universe because of you.

How did I go anonymous in my last comment about the universe looking after you? Now you won't believe I wrote that.

I have walked through several towns struck by tornadoes, including my own. Several years ago I went to the town where my ex-wife and I spent out honeymoon in a small cabin. The town had been hit by a tornado and the cabin no longer existed—not even the foundation. The power of nature is more than we realize until we encounter it first hand. I hope all recover from this latest demonstration of that power.

I'm glad that you and your house is safe. I've been busy and haven't been following the news. I was catching up on my reading and saw an old newspaper article about the cyclone hitting your area. I rushed to the computer and was glad that all turned out well for you.

Unreal, Michelle, unreal. What a terrifying experience. Your pictures tell the tale. I'm so glad that you're fine and I hope the next one passes by without problem. How terrible and devestating for those who didn't escape. I can't imagine how terrible it would be.
Hope recovery is possible for most.
