Awwww. Nobody should think it's ridiculous. I'm not much of an animal person, and I sobbed when my FRIEND'S cat died. I didn't even have one! I can only imagine. I'm sorry to hear this. 
I am SO SO sad for you! I love my black cat, too. I would honestly take a few days off from work if anything ever happened to her!

I'm sorry about your cat, Cinders. I use to have 2 cats and now we have a dog. To a lot of people, pets are family so when we lose a pet, its losing a member of our family. I feel your pain.
That's really too bad.
They are part of the family.
I sort of like our cat (he only likes my wife, though), but I will still miss her when she's gone.
