In case you are looking for a new counter, I really like Blogflux Mapstats. In addition to the number of page views and unique visitors, it also shows you where in the world people come from, and what search terms they used if they come from a search engine.
It seems like it would be really easy to add (just add a link of copy and paste HTML), but somehow it took me 2 months to figure out how to make it work. Don't tell my parents- they paid for my engineering degree.
I hope you feel better soon-both neuro and pancreas-wise. It sounds like you have a lot of people to help you out, and you strike me as one of those people who are much smarter than they are willing to admit.
