Okay, so I wouldn't personally get on a soapbox over a mirror, but still, I can see why people who live in communities where they are religious minorities really value the separation between church and state, especially in public schools.
It is not that the statement that Jesus is within you is offensive in and of itself. It is just that when children are learning that they are different, it is important that they feel that school is a place for everybody. Obviously, an inscription on a mirror is a long way from prayer in schools, where students who did not participate used to go out into the halls, but the line between some and too much is harder to draw than the line between some and none.

I have a sticker that reads "Some people are only alive because it's illegal to kill them". This is true of those who are offended by everything they see or hear. Deal with it. Whiners offend me. This truly is The United States of the Offended.
