Seems to me that the inpatient detox is a viable solution. You need to decide this, not your mother, even though you love her very much.

Gravatar Thanks.

Gravatar I would probably do the inpatient detox. After you make it through that, seriously consider cognitive therapy. I know someone very close that has started that and I've seen an absolutely HUGE improvement. It has like an 80% success rate and you see results in a matter of 6 months. The best part? No drugs! I love ur gutz and hopefully you'll look into it.

Gravatar Kim,
I'm so sorry you're feeling so badly. I do know how you feel, and understand how hopeless it can all seem, but you're amazingly strong, despite all the panic and anxiety that's trying to tell you otherwise. You will get through it- look at what you've accomplished already, even with the panic, and the medication haze.

Please, please please don't be too hard on yourself.

Let's talk soon, okay? You can call me anytime.

Gravatar wow this is an amazing thing you are sharing here. i am so impressed by how well you are coping, and whatever you decide to do im sure you will pull through it and come out the other end a stronger person for it with an amazing perspective, which is ultimately going to help make you a better doctor.

dont think i have ever commented here before, but i have been lurking for a bit, so hi.

Gravatar Aww, {{Kim}}! I'd advise the inpatient approach too, from what you've told us. I'm surprised there's no other drug that could help without those side effects, as common as anxiety meds are now, but I'm sure your doctors are doing what's best. Fortunately I only have to deal with dry, cracking skin as a side effect, at least it doesn't make me wonky. Much.
