Congrats, it sounds like you are happy with what you got!
Because our med school is affiliated with 6 rather large hospitals, such that there are so few of us anywhere at any one time, we all rotate in the same order (so I guess there is really no rotation). So, I know the order of my rotations too: internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, then either psych or ob/gyn, then the other of those two.
I can't wait to read about your psych rotation! I know you will find insightful things to say about it.
And I know what you mean about the background check. I think it's a control thing: the only way you would fail is if someone else screwed up, so you pick this test to worry about. When I was in college, I got an internship I was totally psyched about, but I had to go to this occupational health clinic and take a drug test. Now, I do NOT do drugs, but still, I was nervously counting the poppy seed bagels in my diet. (Aah, I miss Seinfeld!)
