Wow, what a butthead (the attending).
I guess the main thing would be - how do YOU feel about taking the time off?
Health reasons are a perfect reason to take time off, sometimes it is necessary to prioritise yourself higher than you normally do, even Jesus took his space. I think you will be an awesome doctor btw. I sympathise with the
beaten-down feeling and hope the time away helps you heal emotionally (and that the Fentanyl patch is taking the edge off).

His reaction to your telling him about your medical condition says a lot about him as a doctor (I use the term loosely) and as a human being. I would take whatever miniscule bit of criticism he gave you and work on that. The other attending seemed much (ha) more constructive. Use what he gave you.
I have a feeling the "buzz" in Medicine is coming from Dr. Grinchtastic.
Chin up dearie, I think you'll make an excellent doctor.

You will be a great doctor because you care. As for the one who failed to inform of the cancelled meeting, revenge, dear woman, revenge. What's that? Two wrongs don't make a right? They do when it happens to me.
