I have decided that after Balls' comment of "So what?", this lot are bunker happy and are now only in it for the laughs.

Can anyone seriously believe it is a Good Thing for a child of 5 to be ticked off against a 500 box checklist? - of course not. The government are just seeing how far they can push the boat out on everything.

The fact that many European countries start school later than us but end up with much better educated children shows us how disastrous our school system is.

Yes, it's very interesting how those European countries (like Sweden) startschool later but end up doing better.

I can vividly recall during my teacher training being taught that ALL the evidence showed Britain's schooling issues were largely down to our lack of nursery provision that all modern states have.
