And how many of these MPs could make a similar living in the private sector? How many of them have other jobs and incomes? How much appreciation in their house prices have we taxpayers contributed?

I am never been too vocal about politicians but I am at the end of my tether.

Oh come on, you say HE has spent the money, but if its a govt house its probably the Crown Estates. If HE has over-ruled them in some way then maybe we should criticise, but otherwise its like blaming the Queen for the cost of maintaining Buckinghan Palace.

Or get rid of the house and sinecure altogether, but if we have it, it needs maintaining.

People are getting ridiculous here. 85k for MPs does not seem to bad to me. If we want to save money we should have fewer of them. Likewise the whole bureaucracy can be thinned out. But some of this carping is pathetic.

I did a bathroom AND kitchen for gbp12k excl appliances. And I'm happy with it.
