A stirring speech and a powerful philosophy. It's amazing, though somewhat disheartening, just how relevant this speech still seems today.
Unfortunately there is no political party that seems to represent these views in the UK, or at least none that are unflinching in expounding the case for freedom.
Indeed, I do not believe the UK truly understand the concept of freedom any more. We have ended up with an emasculated ideology that grants the freedom to do and say only things nobody disagrees too strongly with.

Jindal is dim and doesn't believe in evolution and is so dim he makes that non-belief a feature. No hope for the USA if they go with him.

Wow - what a powerful speech, and what a great speaker!
And yes, it applies so much to our situation in the UK right now.

Yes Ronald Regan talked a good fight and he was a much better President than he is often given credit for - certainly better than any that have come after him (probably including the incumbent - to be fair let's give him some time). History is already judging Regan on an upward trend. End of Cold war, facing down the Air Traffic Controllers etc.
BUT - despite all his rhetoric even he left office with taxes higher in the USA then when he came in, having done much the same in California.
Canute comes to mind.

He was COMPLAINING about a 37% tax burden. Wonder if we'll ever get as low as 37%!
