Generally companies pay to sponsor organisations whose good standing in the community may improve the image and perception of the sponsoring organisation.
Would any commercial organisation think it could enhance their image to be associated with the modern National Horror Show.

Just a thought about CREDS: according to this Cambridgeshire CC has a large Conservative majority. Nevertheless, if you read the council's website you'd believe that the council was deep in Labour territory. I happen to live in the London Borough of Haringey. I expect the councillors of the majority (Labour) party to be gristle from ear to ear (and I'm not disappointed). However, why shouldn't the citizens of Cambridgeshire expect something different, something better, something (God help us) intelligent from their "Conservative" council! Well, they're not getting it. So, bearing this in mind, why should they bother to vote Conservative - or vote at all - in the next general and council elections? Whichever way they vote they're stuffed.
