It was refreshing to hear Evan Davis try to get something except blah out of Darling: maybe this is a new leaf for the BBC! However something the BBC missed was picked up by the Telegraph to the effect that MPs (and the mayor of London) are to get an increased taxfree golden handshake if they fail to retain their seats at the next election. So even if the buggers get thrown out, they still win.

Translation: forecast cocked up the tune of ONE THIRD OF A TRILLION FREAKING DOLLARS! Nearly three thousand quid for every man. woman and child in the UK. It is to weep.
