What gets me is the rank hypocrisy. When people on the Right called Hillary Clinton names, it was awful and terrible and sexist. But when the Left calls Sarah Palin names, why, that is okay.
I have friends---intelligent, decent people---who insist to me that Sarah Palin is "crazy." Why? They say that she supports the teaching of Creationism in the schools, and belongs to a nutty church.
Well, the first bit has been debunked. I tried to suggest that, but they weren't even willing to look at the evidence. And since they couldn't define evolution if selective pressure bit them in the butt, it is just politics again. "Nutty churches"? Good luck suggesting that Senator Obama attended a far, far nuttier church.
Nope, that is off limits. White people don't understand. Well, I don't think that non-religious people understand religion, either. But I don't think that the discussion should be squelched.
I do think that people should not be hypocritical about this kind of thing.

Ugh, how awful. They hate her because of religion, they hate her because of abortion, they hate her because she's beautiful. Un friggin believable.
And yes the wheels definitely started to come off during the 2000 recount. I was so happy Bush won by a larger margin in 2004, but they could still always say he shouldn't have been there to begin with. Even though the media recount showed he won it fair and square.
I don't ever want to see an election like that one again.
