We will be celebrating at home, but most likely going to watch the fireworks in Redmond later. (We have a super-duper secret viewing area. If anyone's in the area and would like to come along, we'll be either in the parking lot of Redmond Town Center or atop the parking garage. All the fun, none of the traffic for the fireworks in Marymoor Park!)
Speaking of going to the Super Bowl, we're going to have that feeling again in Qwest, aren't we?

Yeah I watched that replay last night also. It was glorious. It was more glorious in person at the time, but NFL replay isn't bad.
My band is playing for the 4th of July extravaganza tonight at the downtown park in Anchorage. We're doing an all Tower Of Power show and I'm really jazzed for that event. We've been rehearsing the Tower Of Power for a couple of months now and it'll be good to finally take our hard work and put it out for the public. Should be a few thousand people there and fireworks to follow.
Fireworks on the 4th of July aren't so dramatic in Anchorage because at midnight the Sun has just set and it's still pretty much daytime so it doesn't come off as cool as when it's really dark outside. We have the best fireworks shows in Winter up here during Fur Rondy days in Feburary when it's 20 below zero outside and the air is crystal clear and the fireworks are spectacular. The body need lots of fortification on those cold winter days. My wife is Russian so we usually fortify with Vodka.
