I sure hope the Walrus plays him in the first half so we can either end this debate or have it cranked up a notch!

What is funny is that with this decision, I don't think it matters if Forsett hasn't ran against 1st stringers yet...
I say this because Duckett has ran against 2nd and 3rd stringers a lot of the time and has done nothing at all.
I'll say what I said on the TNT blog:
Forsett has proven that he belongs in this league and is pouring more heart out there and giving more of an effort than any other player that is stepping onto that field. He has easily surpassed Duckett and only has to prove that he can stand up to the 1st defenses Morris and Jones face.
Duckett is clearly at the bottom of the totem pole and is expendable...and I dont give a rats ass about his money situation...it'll all be for the better in the long term.
And if I am worried about any short yardage situations and don't really have faith that Mo, Jones or Forsett can get the job done...then simply put Weaver at FB and stack up Big Ole Owen Schmitt behind him. Take the leash off Schmitt and let him crack some skulls. Or you can reverse it and let Schmitt break some helmets blocking for weaver.

Just read on the PI website that Red Bryant was at practice and in pads today. That's great news.

I suggest that you listen to the interview for yourselves at www.KJR.COM
Holmgren may say some of those things but he does so very very indirectly. It is not nearly as cut and dry and Hughes makes it seem.
In reality, he doesn't really give a hint either way on what is going to happen, in the classic Holmgren way.

DSAhawker,
I completely agree. Forsett proved he can play at NFL speeds, and you make a great point about Duckett, playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers very unimpressively.
Everyone should be excited, as Forsett is an exciting player who will be on the team this year, in one capacity or another. He is the kind of player we watch football to watch.
This is why you begin with 80 and finish with 53. If you couldn't count on a surprise or two, you wouldn't go through the trouble. They knew they had too many running backs. It was always a question of keeping the ones who proved themselves in camp and preseason. Well, guess what. Forsett proved himself and Duckett failed.

With Burleson and Engram definitely unavailable on special teams, Forsett seems to have an in as a punt returner. For kickoff returns, you also have Wilson, Morris, and Obomanu with some experience, but Forsett was the only one getting punt returns the last game.
