Well, it will be a bummer not to
see Hass out there against SD on Friday, but i'd rather he rest and get better.
We don't need any more injuries to starters in games that don't count..

Week one is sure going to be a test with all the guys trying to gel together when they havnt played much at the same time. I hope Hass has his timing right with the young WR and the line comes together.

Matt has been practicing, so his timing should be okay. I think this is a precautionary measure. Of course, there is value to play in game situations at game speed, so Matt may be a little rusty come week 1.

Holmy would never say as much but he is quietly pleased so far.
2-0 and if you look at the team stats at NFL.com the Hawks are kicking major butt (#1 scoring team, top 5 run O and run D, near the top in total D, top 5 ypc, top 5 in turnovers, amongst other impressive rankings)
This is the deepest Seahawks team I have seen heading into a season and over the course of the rest of the preseason there are some real good football players fighting for a maybe only a few roster spots. There are some tough cuts to be made for sure, lets see what these bubble guys can do.
Most of our cuts that don't go the practice sqaud will be on someone elses active roster.

Week 1 will serve as a case study on the value of practice vs exhibition games, I guess. Looking back though I think I always think that the team has many preparedness question marks going into the first game, and it generally turns out ok. Still, considering that Hasselbeck-to-Taylor is going to be important this year, I wish I'd seen it happen at least once in the exhibition season.

Mike,
You could make a new poll on which team makes the lamest pick-ups. Entries could be the "boys, the pats, whoever took Henry, and somebody else...

darnell,
I think you are right, and Holmgren should be happy. While I have been a Hawk fan for over 30 years, I have never followed things so closely from the draft until opening day, so I don't have a good feel for what pre-season really means for a team.
The Giants looked great (or Cleveland looked terrible). Greenbay looks bad, the Panthers and Eagles don't look so impressive, the Bears are plain going to suck. The Cowboys have been beat twice, as have the Patriots. Not sure what to make of all that.

Hass is faking it. He read too many 9ers blogs about how they're going to win the division and he fell on his back laughing so hard.
