Seahawk Addicts

It may very well be a rumor that I'm remembering, but hadn't we basically told him we wanted him and had a new contract for him after a few days, basically asking him if he'd take the cut for a week and then re-sign with a new contract... then he went and signed with the rams the week before we played them...

I could be totally mis-remembering that, but that was a pretty low play on his part, I thought.

Gravatar Kaz doesn't make the kind of money in the NFL that he could live off of the rest of his life, so by signing with another team he basically doubled his money for that season. However, of all the teams why the Rams? We don't need him.

Gravatar He was a borderline NFLer to start with, I can not see him getting on with another team. Concerning what happen when he signed with the Rams, Holmgren was pissed. I doubt that he would get another chance with the Hawks. We stuck with him for a long time and he signed with the enemy, see ya.

Gravatar I love Kaz while he was a Seahawk. I didn't even begrudge him signing a contract even if there was a 'gentlemen's agreement that he would be re-signed with Seattle as soon as possible. It's the old bird in the hand thing.

What I will NEVER forgive Kaz for and the reason why I would not want him in Seahawk blue ever again was the display he put on on the Rams sideline the very next week. Standing there with the coaching staff and basically telling everything. It smacked of the scorned lover writing the tell all book and was just as sleazy. He could have just given them his all, played special teams like he was capable, and did his job. He chose to take the low road.

May his career never have the rebound. Karma is a nasty thing and the fact he was dumped by the Rams only one year after buying their promises is poetic justice. He was used by them to get dirt on the Seahawks and he became a willing participant.

Gravatar Chuck you wrote what I felt, but better than what I could do.

Gravatar Chuck - normally I find myself in agreement with you, and find you to be very reasonable, but not on this. You don't begrudge him signing a contract with another team, but you begrudge him honoring that contract? When he became a Ram, he ceased being a Seahawk. What made him a fan favorite is that he went all out for his TEAM. His team was the Rams.

The Seahawks cut Kaz - Kaz didn't quit on the 'Hawks. Kaz's loyalties should be to God, country, and family - in that order. What team Kaz plays for doesn't appear to have religious or national security implications, so he should play for the team that benefits his family the most. St. Louis paid him way more than the 'Hawks were ever going to - don't ever kid yourself and say you wouldn't have done the same. That said, Kaz was only doing what all fans want, for the their players to do all they can for the good of their team - NOT THE OPPOSING TEAM!

Gravatar Right on Chuck!

Gravatar Whether you think his giving information to the Rams was a betrayal or not, he's obviously not as clever as his Harvard degree indicates because they played him like a piano. Who really thinks they saw him as a cornerstone of the defense and not just the guy who knows the Hawks strategy. I'm glad Lance Laury KO'd him.

Gravatar Ya Laury KO'D him. We got special teamers and Lbers better than him. If he was in camp right now he wouldn't make this team.

With guys like Kent, Payne, Costelo, Hobbs, Adams, K Johnson, CJ Wallace all trying to make this team; there's no way a roster spot would be used for Kaz.

Not to mention he burned some bridges, if we're looking for a special teamer at some point in the season and his legs healed Josh Scobey is the way to go. Dude has always gone all out for this team.

Gravatar Yeah I agree with darnell. Not sure on Scobey's status in the league but I would think he would make the team over Kaz. First game back as a seahawk last year he got a safety on the cards punter. I think.

Gravatar Screw that traitor. He was blabbing all of our defensive tricks to the Rams when we played them. We dont need him.

Gravatar yup, I remember that game on TV with him whispering into the Rams coaching staff's ears.
But, what if he was telling them lies???

Gravatar Kaz was fading when Ruskell cut him. There was no agreement in place, no guarantee except Holmy told him he'd try to resign him. Holmy was pissed Ruskell cut him, and Weeks never played a down.

The Lambs played Kaz for a fool, but he really wasnt good enough to start for anyone at that time. Still, I dont blame him for trying.

The giving away of our plays sucked, it was exactly like a jilted lover posting pictures of his naked girlfriend on the internet as payback. Sleazy.

Regardless of all of that, Kaz is old, slow, and has nothing left. The Hawks have plenty of young guys to play special teams, and Kaz would have no chance of making the team, even if Holmy and Ruskell werent pissed at him.

I dont bear him any ill will, but he needs to retire, before he cant walk.
