it's sort of funny, I was thinking we were never going to be on the show, until I realized after all these weeks, they were doing it on popularity, the most popular teams last......
That's why it took so long!

You may hear me scream during the replay of the NFC championship in the middle of the 3rd quarter, I was next in line when they cut off beer sales.

That game was one of the greatest I have ever seen. Anything seemed possible. I have never had the guts to watch it again, due to zebra and chin hatred.
What might have been...

Michael- great pull! I am happy to know this will be done. Even though we know what these clowns will likely say- its still nice to see the spotlight shine on the Hawks for a little bit. I'm sure someone will have some nice things to say about the team and remind America that this team has won lots of division titles in a row. Nice call on Marshall as well, that guy just loves to hate on the Hawks...fine by me. Between him and Rod Woodson, you have two players who spent most of their careers playing against the crap-Hawks of the early nineties and beyond. The strong Hawks we have gotten to know of late were not the Hawks these guys played against.
I love re-living the Panther game in my mind. What a great feeling. Only becoming a new father can exceed that feeling. The blue and green confetti reigning down from the sky, the great feeling you know that OUR TEAM is going to play in the Superbowl, for a chance to be the NFL champions. Great stuff.

I was there, by myself. That was one of the best days of my life. As a life-long Seattle sports nut, it was certainly the high point.
I get goose bumps thinking about it.

Goddamned cable and NFLN. Oh well.
The memories I have of that game will still live on as some of the happiest in my entire life. Something tells me Qwest will be screaming like that in January again this season...

That NFC Championship game was one that Hawk fans will savor forever. The atmosphere at Qwest was electric and the 12th Man was louder than loud. I'll never forget turning to my husband during our rout of the favored Panthers, and saying, "Didn't we know it would be like this?!?"
Seeing Steve Smith stalking the sideline as he got more and more pissed off just made it all the sweeter. He might as well have stayed in Carolina for all the good he did that day.
That hit by Tatupu on Goings was incredible. I laugh every time I see the close-up of the hit and Goings trying to get up after it. His unfocused eyes and slack jaw attested to the ferocity of the hit Lofa put on him. And Lofa played on.
I record everything Seahawks, so my DVR is set and ready to go this week.

Yes indeedy, Chris. Carolina was picked to win the NFC Championship. Which is exactly why the rout over the "popular pick" was such a beautiful thing.
Our 2005 Seahawks team was a thing of beauty and the media machine still couldn't bring themselves to pick us to win in the championship game.

wouldnt it be great if we routed the cowboys this year at quest field in the nfc championship game and hear the media and cowboy fans cry like a bunch of babies.

Seattle was a 4.5 favorite to win the game, Carolina was just a favorite at ESPN and Fox.

Chris...
Only if Romo botches a snap with the game on the line.
I can see it now. 3 and 6 from the Hawk 10. 35 sec on the clock, down by 4. Fumbled snap!!!!!! Peterson recovers!!!!
Then they will have to amend the rules to say that when in Seattle, balls are allowed to be coated in stick em', because the ball boys intentionally screwed the Cowgirls.

To me, NFLNet's treatment of the Seahawks is going to come down to whether they do the piece in a vacuum using their own less than adequate investigative skills and letting their staff run wild with their mouths and spouting own their inacurrate information, speculations, inuendo, and rumors or whether they actually talked with the Seahawks and determined what is real out in the West before airing what should be factual information and a true picture of the Seahawks in 2008. Let's hope it is a good thing but I'm trying to not be bitter beforehand because they will most likely gloss over some important points and dwell on others that have no real meaning this season.
We'll see after tomorrow.
