We have the puzzle pieces in place. The defense showed by getting together to make sure that Lofa's contract got extended that they want to stay together. They'll mentor the younger guys, and they can do nothing but improve.
The offense? Let's hope that Matt finally has additional offensive weapons, he can use them from the beginning, and we stun some East Coast sports reporting media.
I'm optimistic!

I'm really excited about our defense
this year, especially with the additions of LoJack and Red.
Guess we'll have to cross our fingers for the health and a quick bonding and learning curve for the offense..

I would say so. The defense on the road is their only issue.
Offense won't be as bad as we think though, because the most important places, ie LT, RT, and QB are hold-overs.
Anything has to be better than a drive killing, "Self Tackle" The line looks stronger, and we shouldn't be pushed around as much.
Sims needs to step his game up though. Maybe more than just a notch.

The O-line is the tell all of how the season will go. Just watch the O-line in preseason. Should be a pretty telling sign of what the season holds.

Arrgg! Is it September yet? Summer is my favorite season, but I hope it flys by quickly! I want to see more 4 reciever sets, even if they are mostly the younger guys, just flying all over the field for matt to throw bullets at! And with so many options in the back field, I can't even immagine! A younger offense(with ol man Matt and Bobby) and what seems to be a veteran, middle age defense. Perfect.

Well these charts are good if all the players get thru camps and pre-season and this is still how it looks. Hopefully we don't have any injuries to these dudes, and these charts hold.

Although (overall) I like the job Ruskell has done, but it's easy to improve one unit when you spend most of your available dollars on that side of the ball and most of your early draft picks are on it (D). Don't count Wahle or Carlson, b/c we haven't seen the '08 results yet (which will be good).
Nevermind the fact that Hutch left and all his money went to defense (JP signed the same day we didn't match Hutch and for more money) - to strenghten it and make the offense that much weaker...
Me, a moron, could take over any bad team in the NFL and if I spent all of my free agent dollars and early draft picks on defensive players... I'm pretty sure my D would be pretty good too after a few years...
